In early May, following the completion of Spring Football Practices for programs across the country, the 247Sports Expert Panel released an updated set of early top 25 leaderboards for the 2021 college football season. Our experts – Brad Crawford, Bud Elliott, Chris Hummer, Brandon Marcello, Josh Pate and Trey Scott – all aspects considered when casting their votes for the best teams in spring training.
No surprise the Defense of National Alabama is still # 1 on that list, and the Crimson Tide has only grown in depth since those rankings were released when Nick Saban and Co. won the battle for Tennessee transfer linebacker Henry To’o To’o later that month. Oklahoma, Clemson, Ohio State, and Georgia completed the top 5 on this list, though each team will obviously have to prove themselves when the games begin this fall.
