CFN School Soccer Preview 2021
The College Football News 2021 Pac-12 Preseason Leaderboard along with a brief overview of each team.
This is NOT a leaderboard where teams will end up. This is based on how well we think the Pac-12 teams are heading into the 2021 season.
2021 CFN Pac-12 Preseason Ranking: North
1. Oregon ducks
Quick recording: Can Oregon get a strong quarterback game from Anthony Brown and / or Ty Thompson? The duck defense should be amazing, and the rest of the parts are there to get another run for a Pac-12 title and possibly college football playoff, but land mines in the road game – Ohio State, Utah, Washington, UCLA – are a problem.

2. Washington Huskies
Quick recording: The 2020 season couldn’t quite get off the ground and was then canceled before the team had a chance to do something great. Head coach Jimmy Lake has another team good enough to fight for the Pac-12 title, led by the best defense in the league.

3. Stanford Cardinal
Quick recording: 12 games, 12 power five opponents – that’s not quite as daunting as it might seem, but still impressive. The Cardinal has the talent and experience to be awesome again after a mediocre few years, starting with a great Defensive Front Seven.

4. Cal Golden Bears
Quick recording: It’s like Cal can’t quite crank the engine. The defense will be great again, and having a healthy year with QB Chase Garbers would be a big deal. The linebackers and secondary are right up there with the best of the Pac-12.

5. Washington State Pumas Washington
Quick recording: Nick Rolovich failed to get the team going in 2020, but in his second year at the helm he should get a lot more out of a great looking offensive. The linebacking corps will anchor an improved D.

6. Oregon State Beaver
Quick recording: The Beavers should be better off, but the schedule doesn’t bring much – it hurts to miss Arizona from the south. The offensive line should be a big plus, but the defensive front has to prove that it can keep up.
