Ex-Chicago Bear Sam Acho joins ESPN Faculty Soccer Protection
University of Texas graduate and former Chicago Bears linebacker Sam Acho will show his talent at the booth. Acho will cover college football with ESPN this fall and will be a studio lead voice for ESPN2 on Saturdays. In addition, the former bear will also report on various games as a color commentator.
The message came from Daniel Kaplan via Twitter:
Former University of Texas and NFL linebacker Sam Acho has signed a multi-year contract to join ESPN’s college football coverage and serves primarily as the lead studio voice on college football Saturdays on ESPN2. Acho will also be calling up select college football matches this fall.

It seems like Sam is following in the footsteps of younger brother Emmanuel Acho, who has become hugely popular in his role at Fox Sports. Sam, an All-Big-12 standout in Texas, was selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played nine seasons in the NFL with Arizona, Chicago and Tampa Bay. During that time, Acho counted 18 career sacks and 11 forced fumbles.
More importantly, Acho was a strong locker room presence and a great teammate. He was consistently praised for his leadership, hard work, and character. Acho stayed busy off the field as well, receiving two Walter Payton Man Of The Year nominations for his charity work in the city of Chicago.
