Excessive Faculty Soccer: Magee Stays as Cayuga Athletic Director | close to his dwelling sports activities

CAYUGA – Cayuga Independent School District announced on Wednesday the hiring of Jacob Magee as the new sporting director and head football coach.

Magee’s first chance as sporting director and head football coach is as assistant to the football coach under Palestine Lance Angel. He replaces former Cayuga Athletic Director and head football coach Cody Mohan.

“I already love these kids,” said Magee. “These kids are excited and I’m just happy to be here. If you fail to inflate them, then you are in the wrong business. “

Magee has applied for sports director positions over the past several years. He began his coaching career as a junior high coach with Marshall before joining Grapeland High School to coach wide-angle receivers.

After his tenure with the Sandies, he took on the same coaching role with the Palestine Wildcats. He eventually found an opportunity to move up with Rusk High School as an offensive coordinator.

The Eagles won district championships in a row while Magee acted as OK before returning to Palestine last year as the coach and head coach of the specialty teams.

“Cayuga has the potential to be very successful,” said Magee. “I see the quality of the people and children they have here. The three days that I was in Cayuga have so far been nothing but great. “

Cayuga’s potential success and the fact that they are only 10 years away from a state championship made the Wildcats an attractive target for Magee.

In addition, he gets the opportunity to stay close to home. He grew up in Palestine and graduated from Palestine High School. His parents still live in Palestine while his mother continues to teach in the district.

His wife’s parents also live on Lake Palestine.

The Wildcats soccer team finished the regular season 8-1 and last season 5-0 in the district game.
