Excessive Faculty Soccer Staff Preview: Lexington Tigers
LEXINGTON, Tennessee – It’s been a year not many in Big Red Country will soon forget as the Lexington Tigers have a historic 2020 season behind them. Last fall, the Tigers won the Region 6 4A title on their way to a class 4A semifinal appearance.
So far this summer, this Lexington group has been back to perfecting the basics of the game while finding the right staff for the most important starting positions. While they lost some talented athletes who made a big contribution to last year’s offensive schedule, the Lexington coaching team has no intention of deviating from their overall identity.
“We always want to play the ball, but we also want to be even when we can,” said Dewond Johnson, defensive coordinator. “We have to get better and be consistent in what we do. If we can do that, we want to be balanced. “
Lexington’s opponents in Region 6 4A won’t change all that much for 2021 as the region has picked up McNairy while North Side is moving to Region 7 20.
