Gavyn Barnes has a new college football home.

The former Carlisle standout said on Twitter Wednesday that he will be playing at Slipry Rock next season.

The 5-foot, 10,190-pounder originally signed up to Cal U, who came from Carlisle in 2018, and spent the final season in Lackawanna. Barnes was a great two-way player for the Thundering Herd as a senior, collecting 53 tackles and three interceptions while making more than 1,300 yards on offense as a senior.

He was also a standout in basketball and athletics at Carlisle.

Barnes will join a strong Slipry Rock Football team that ended 13-1 in 2019, including a PSAC championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division 2 playoffs.
