Former Park Hill Excessive Faculty soccer coach pleads responsible of kid abuse and rape

Former Park Hill High School soccer coach Josh Hood pleaded guilty to eight sexual crimes incidents Wednesday, including child abuse, legal rape and legal sodomy. Prosecutors charged Hood, 44, of the crimes of teaching and coaching at Holden High School in 2003-2004. Hood admitted in a virtual pleading hearing in Jackson County Court Wednesday that he had had multiple sexual encounters with a high school student under the age of 17 at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and elsewhere for five years parole for the most serious of crimes, registering as a sex offender, and giving up his teaching license after agreeing to the terms of a plea submitted by Jackson County attorneys. A judge accepted the terms of the plea deal and sentenced him to four years in prison for the crime and one year in prison for an offense against Hood. The victim made a declaration of effectiveness during the hearing. She said she still had nightmares about Hood and said she wanted to come forward to protect others. “I’ve lied repeatedly for Josh and his secrets. I know what Josh did. He knows what he’s done. And God knows what he did, ”said the victim. The victim also said she had forgiven Hood and hoped that God would be merciful to him if he ever repented completely. Hood answered the judge’s questions with “yes sir”. He pleaded guilty to the crimes in a hushed voice. He made no further statements. Hood was employed in the Park Hill School District from 2013 to 2020. Before Hood became Park Hill Football Coach in February 2013, Hood served as an assistant coach at Staley High School. He also held previous positions at Concordia, William Chrisman, Holden and Oak Park. Hood’s Park Hill teams won four conference championships, hitting 60-32 during his tenure as head coach, including a 4-7 record in 2020. He led the Trojans. passed into the Missouri Class 5 semifinals in 2014 and the Missouri Class 6 semifinals in 2017. The Holden School District accepted Hood’s resignation in June 2004 after teaching during the 2003-2004 school year. A previous Holden County statement said the Education Committee was surprised to learn of the allegations. Park Hill School District issued a statement following Hood’s guilty plea: “We take any harm to students very seriously, so we have Josh. will suspend Hood in December without pay once we learn of the allegations against him. Since he volunteered his teaching diploma as part of that plea, there is no need for us to take any action to revoke it, and that officially terminates his contract with Park Hill. The charges against him date from his time in another school district in 2003 and 2004. We are not aware of any reports or allegations made by Josh Hood of any similar wrongdoing here in the Park Hill School District since 2013 in Park Hill. ”

The Holden School District accepted Hood’s resignation in June 2004 after teaching for the 2003-2004 school year. A previous Holden County statement said the Education Committee was surprised to learn of the allegations.

The Park Hill School District issued a statement following Hood’s guilty plea.

“We take all possible harm to students very seriously, so we suspended Josh Hood in December without pay as soon as we learned of the allegations against him. Since he volunteered his teaching certificate in the course of this plea, we don’t have to do so. ” Take steps to withdraw it and this will officially end his contract with Park Hill.

The charges against him date back to his time in another school district in 2003 and 2004. We are not aware of any reports or allegations made by Josh Hood of similar misconduct here in the Park Hill School District. He’s been at Park Hill since 2013. “
