High class of Georgia highschool soccer gamers 2022

Year after year, college football programs come to Georgia for some of the best talent in the country.

The 2022 class is deep, and the 2023 class will be special too, as the No. 1 in the nation is recruited overall.

Georgia’s # 1 overall rating is Travis Hunter from Collins Hill according to the latest 247sports.com composite rankings. He is considered to be the No. 2 among the nation’s total recruits. Hunter had an excellent junior season on both sides of the ball.

Hunter likely made more of the headlines for his pass catching skills. The five-star recruit broke Gwinnett County’s single-season record for catches, yards and touchdowns. Hunter finished with 137 catches for 1,746 yards with 24 touchdowns.

Hunter, who has given his word to Florida State, is expected to play in college cornerback. In defense in 2020, he grabbed eight interceptions, one more than in his second season. He also got 51 tackles last year

Hunter is one of two Collins Hill players in the top 50 of the 2022 class.

Quarterback Sam Horn, number 9 in the state, will again throw the ball to Hunter this year. In 2020, the future Missouri Tiger completed 361 of 552 passes for 3,910 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Last year, Hunter and Horn took Collins Hill to runner-up in Class 7A and a 116th place on the National High School Football America leaderboard, sponsored by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to attract players of all ages and skill levels.

State number 2 Malaki Starks is another blender no matter what position he plays. During his tenure at Jefferson, the nation’s No. 21 recruit was a receiver, running back, free safety, and kick returner.

Last year, Starks added a quarterback to his resume and led Jefferson to the Georgia AAAA championship game. While the Dragons lost in the state title game to Marist, Starks proved why he is considered one of the best athletes in the nation.

The future Georgia Bulldog ran 1,537 yards and 24 touchdowns to pass 11 touchdowns. As a defensive back, Starks made 41 tackles with two interceptions.

AAA Cedar Grove, winner of three of the state’s last five state championships, is brimming with talent. The Saints have the most players in the ’22 Top 50 class.

Defensive lineman Christian Miller leads the way in 14th place. Georgia Tech-linked wide receiver Janiran Bonner is number 22 at number one in the state. The third player in the top 50 is running back Rashod Dubinion, who gave his word to Arkansas, where former Cedar Grove head coach Jimmy Smith is now the running backs coach.

In the ’23 class, Cedar Grove has linebacker Raul Aguirre, who ranks 11th in the state.

At the top of the junior-to-be class is Milton defensive lineman Lebbeus Overton, who is considered the country’s No. 1 recruit. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound overton comes from a second season recording 70 tackles with 21.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.

During his freshman year at Bessemer Academy, Alabama, Overton recorded 105 tackles, 42 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and 13 quarterback hurries.
