Highschool soccer: JT Tuimoloau ranked # 1 in 2021 pledges to the state of Ohio

Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Wash.) JT Tuimoloau, regarded by 247Sports as # 1 in the 2021 high school football class, announced its commitment to the state of Ohio on Sunday. He is the last top 100 rated 247 sports player to sign up and wanted to wait until he made all of his official visits to make a decision.

After the NCAA lifted its dead period in June, the 6-foot-5, 280-pound defensive lineman visited Ohio, Oregon, USC, and Washington. He was supposed to be making his final trip to Alabama, but canceled the visit to focus on the other four before settling on the Buckeyes.

He went wire-to-wire as the # 1 football contender at 247Sports and led the Crusaders to 3A state titles impacting the offensive as a tight end in 2018 and 2019.

Also a standout basketball player, he landed Power 5 deals that include Oregon and Washington, and averaged nearly double-doubles during his high school career. He was an All-Metro-League first-team pick during his sophomore season and second-team selection as a junior.

Tuimoloau made his announcement live on the CBS Sports HQ.
