Calvin Zenz, who has been the Columbus soccer coach since 2017, has been named Reedsburg soccer coach, Zenz confirmed on Friday.

Columbus ended the WIAA’s fall alternate season on a 5-1 record this spring, defeating Beloit Turner, Clinton, Edgerton, Walworth Big Foot, New Glarus / Monticello and dropping a 17-14 decision against Lodi.
Columbus came in ninth place among medium-sized schools in the last soccer poll by WisSports.net coaches.
Zenz was assistant (offensive coordinator) at Scott Hilber in Columbus and took over the position of head coach in 2017 after Hilber resigned 11-1 in Columbus after the 2016 season and had reached the third round of the playoffs.
Columbus was 2-7 in 2017, 1-8 in 2018, and 6-4 (including a post-season berth) in 2019.
Columbus did not play in the fall of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and opted for the alternate season.
Reedsburg ended the 2020 fall season with 2-5. Quinn Hobbs and Mike Riberich acted as interim assistant coaches. They were discontinued last June.
Reedsburg Sporting Director Bryan Yager was out of the office and could not be reached immediately for comment.
