Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame hosts state highschool soccer championships – Enterprise Journal Every day

CANTON, OHIO – The Ohio High School Athletic Association and the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced a three-year agreement on Wednesday for the hall to host the Canton state soccer championships.

The games in the seven divisions of Ohio will be played at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium from 2021.

“The OHSAA is excited about this three-year agreement with the Pro Football Hall of Fame as our student athletes, schools and communities experience the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and all that Canton and the Hall of Fame Village have to offer” said Doug Ute, executive director of OHSAA, in a statement. “We are grateful to the Hall of Fame for their partnership and look forward to working with the Hall all year round.”

Canton, Massillon, and Ohio State University have hosted state soccer championships in various locations for the past 30 years. Because of its ties to the game and Canton’s rich history, the OHSAA considered the Pro Football Hall of Fame an ideal place to host the state soccer championships.

“The Hall of Fame prides itself on treating OHSAA football teams and their fans just as we treat the NFL teams and their fans,” said Steve Strawbridge, chief administrative officer of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. “We give you a first class experience while you are here. We guide the teams through the museum and promote the values of the game. We look forward to providing an exceptional experience for the players, coaches, families and fans attending the Games in Canton. “
