School soccer recruitment class rating 2022
A busy month of June with lots of visits and engagements, coupled with updated ESPN 300 player rankings, has resulted in a reorganization of the top 25 recruitment class rankings for the 2022 cycle.
Ohio State continues to lead the field, but the top 10 look very different. Penn State jumped into the top 5 after receiving multiple ESPN 300 signings early in July, as well as long-time WR signing Kaden Saunders, who rose up the player rankings. The keen distance runner with excellent hands showed a strong performance at the Future 50 event in June and climbed 117 places into the top 30 of the overall standings. The Nittany Lions continue to do very well in the state, with recent additions including RB Nicholas Singleton and longtime defender Tyreese Fearbry, both top five candidates in Pennsylvania.
Alabama is no stranger to the top 5 grades and has worked its way back into that group for the 2022 cycle. Not only has the Crimson Tide seen multiple commits climb the player rankings, including massive DT Jaheim Oatis, but also five-star defender Jeremiah Alexander, the state’s top-rated player.
Oklahoma and Oregon both moved up to the top 10, finishing in 6th and 8th respectively. Not only did the Sooners add more future offensive firepower with the ESPN 300 WR Robert Spears-Jennings, but they also made a huge defensive commit in the top five DE Derrick Moore, a powerful player with a big framework to develop.
Oregon had slipped behind USC in the Pac-12 rankings, but that change proved short-lived as the Ducks reacted quickly by landing ESPN 300 OT Kelvin Banks, who has good flexibility and body control, and is in the top 10 -Perspectives heard in Texas.
