The very best highschool soccer groups since Excessive Faculty Soccer America created its rating algorithm

Believe it or not, this is the ninth year of the High School Football America leaderboard created using our proprietary algorithm.

Next week we’re releasing our Preseason High School Football America 100 powered by PlayFootball.NFL.com, which will downsize the HSFA 300. In anticipation of the Preseason Top 100, we will, as always, examine the top high school high soccer teams in the nation since we started using the algorithm in 2013

This is how we determine who has been the best of the best since 2013.

We award points to a team based on their placement in the annual survey. For example, team # 1 receives 25 points, team # 2 receives 24 points, team no. 3 receives 23 points, and so on.

2019 National High School Football America champ St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) Has remained # 1 on the team for the past eight years. Until last season, the Braves were among our top 25 every year. The Braves collected 138 points from 2013 to 2020.

With just six regular season games and no postseason in California due to the coronavirus pandemic, SJB finished 30th on High School Football America 100 in the combined Fall / Spring 2020-21 season.

In addition to their national title, as you can see below, the Braves also had runner-ups in 2013 and 2016.

The 2020 national champion IMG Academy (Bradenton, Florida) has caught up with Bosco from last year’s overall standings. The Ascenders are just seven points behind Bosco in 2021.

Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California), the arch-rival of St. John Bosco, has moved up three places from 6th place last year and this year is 3rd with Allen (Texas). The Monarchs have our national championships in 2017 and 2018 won.

After a perfect 5-0 spring season, Mater Dei took 7th place in the HSFA 100 2020-21.

Rounding out the top 10: No. 5 De La Salle (Concord, California), No. 6 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nevada), No. 7 St. Joseph’s Prep (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), No. 8 St. Thomas von Aquin (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), No. 9 North Shore (Houston, Texas) and tied at No. 10 Corona Centennial (Corona, California) and Miami Central (Florida).
