Vandals trigger $ 5,000 injury on Armstrong County’s highschool soccer discipline

Unidentified vandals have inflicted more than $ 5,000 in damage to an Armstrong County high school soccer field, according to state police.

State police said the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at West Shamokin High School, part of the Armstrong School District on Wolf Drive in Cowanshannock Township.

According to the state police, someone drove side by side through a locked gate in the school onto the soccer field and tore up the lawn. They drove out through another locked gate.

The side by side had an LED light bar mounted on the roof, state police said.

The damage estimates were $ 4,000 for the metal gates, $ 600 for gate latches, $ 300 for soccer field grass, and $ 150 for soccer field turf.
